On July 14th, 2025, Professor Arai conducted a university experience lecture at at the Doremus School (Yokohama Kyoritsu Gakuen) Senior High School.
Titled “The Science of A-I-U-E-O,” the lecture targeted second-year high school students. Using a vocal tract model, it covered topics ranging from the mechanisms of voice to the applications of speech research.
Each student thought deeply about their own relationship with voice and sound, and watched the vocal tract model demonstrations with great interest.
